There are many reasons why people decide to get in shape. You want to feel and look better. Your health is starting to decline and it’s time to get healthy. Someone you know started working out and looks great- it’s your turn now. But you are embarrassed to go to the gym. You haven’t ran a mile since it was required for you in High School. The thought of huffing and puffing in front of a bunch of muscle hunks and smoking hot fit bodies makes you panic. It’s enough to keep you hidden at your home with no thought of ever getting your fitness on in public. The good news is that you don’t have to leave your home to get a good workout. Here are a few ways to stay in shape without ever leaving your house:
1. At home workout DVDs– I love Beachbody and Jillian Michaels. The moves are challenging but no one is judging you. Except for maybe your dog or kids.
2. Dance. Make a playlist of all your favorite dance songs and work it. There are also several YouTube tutorials on dance choreography if you want to take it to the next level and learn a few dances.
3. Clean your house. Did you know that cleaning your floors burns about 400 calories in an hour? Laundry burns almost 200. A day of housework can really add up!
The point is to get MOVING. Your body burns calories any time it is in motion. Start sweating, moving, and laughing- oh yeah, that burns calories too. Happy summer body ladies!
