The award winning actress joins the prominent Oscar winners such as Julia Roberts, Penelope Cruz, and Kate Winslet as the spokesperson of the French cosmetic giant. The company confirmed that she will be featured in the campaign ads starting this summer. Nyong’o was gracious in her statement:
“I am truly honored to join the Maison Lancôme, a brand with such a prestigious history that I have always loved. I am particularly proud to represent its unique vision for women and the idea that beauty should not be dictated, but should instead be an expression of a woman’s freedom to be herself,”
She becomes the first black ambassador of the luxury brand. It will be interesting to see how this development affects their future product line up.
