5 suggestions on how you can look and feel beautiful in the New Year.

New Year. New you. Let’s not call them New Year’s resolutions, because who keeps those, anyway? Let’s just say these are five ideas on how to live a happier and more beautiful 2015. Happy New Year!
1. Reminisce
When beautiful things happen, write them down on a piece of paper and keep the notes in a special jar. On New Year’s Eve, when you’re trying to think of all the great things that happened to you that year, you’ll have a written reminder. It’s certain to put a smile on your face. And smiling is beautiful.
2. Volunteer
It’s a proven fact that people actually feel better giving than receiving. Make this the year that you stop talking about giving to that charity you keep hearing about or helping at your local homeless shelter, and do it. Even better, enlist the help of a friend and that might be two people you get hooked on helping.
3. Reduce, Reuse, Recyle
Just like you have to take care of the body you live in, we have to take care of the planet we live on. Taking old items and repurposing them was all the rage this past year. But if being crafty isn’t your thing, at least make a promise to recycle more. Did you know it takes on average 1,000 years for a plastic bag to break down? You can feel better about storing your sandwich if you choose to reuse the plastic bag.
4. Take A Trip
Knowledge is sexy. And what better way to learn about the world around you then by visiting it? Everyone has a place on their bucket list they’ve always dreamed of going. What’s stopping you? Make it a priority. If it matters to you, you’ll find a way. If it doesn’t, you’ll find an excuse.
5. Do
Make yourself a promise that 2015 will be the year of yes. If someone asks if you want to see that new movie, say yes! If your partner wants to know if you want to take a romantic trip just the two of you, say yes! It’ll feel good, and your only regret will be saying no.
